Some of us are walking around lukewarm, because we are no longer close to the fire. You may be doing all the right things…going to church, reading scripture, watching biblical shows on TV, maybe even a little Joyce Meyer here and there. You may be spreading the Word to others on social media and putting on a good face, but you are dead on the inside and you know it because there is no real victory, no power…no nothing. What lie are you listening to that got you in this predicament? Are you afraid, discouraged, bored? Have you told yourself, “Well, I can’t be fired up ALL the time”? Have you cooled down to the point of not even recognizing your worth anymore, questioning everything that you are (or were) doing?

lukewarm3Jeremiah 20:9-12 – But if I say, “I will not mention his word
or speak anymore in his name,”
his word is in my heart like a fire,
a fire shut up in my bones.
I am weary of holding it in;
indeed, I cannot.
10 I hear many whispering,
“Terror on every side!
Denounce him! Let’s denounce him!”
All my friends
are waiting for me to slip, saying,
“Perhaps he will be deceived;
then we will prevail over him
and take our revenge on him.”

11 But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior;
so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail.
They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced;
their dishonor will never be forgotten.
12 Lord Almighty, you who examine the righteous
and probe the heart and mind,
let me see your vengeance on them,
for to you I have committed my cause.

lukewarm1The church today is ASLEEP, insensitive to what is taking place in our world, careless. We are walking around shivering because the fire that is burning is now a smoldering flame. It isn’t putting out heat anymore and SO MANY don’t seem to care. It’s past time to fan the fire, stir it up a bit, put some more fuel on it and watch it BURN! We don’t have to stay this way and the answer is to yield ourselves to the obvious move of the Holy Spirit. Who are you keeping company with? What do your prayers sound like? Rekindle your fellowship with the Lord and watch your situation change!

lukewarm2Revelation 3:14-22 – These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witnesses, the ruler of God’s creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm – neither hot nor cold – I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. 19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the , I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. 21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

What do you stand for? Are you hardened and self-satisfied? Let Christ fire up your FAITH and get into the action! Draw near to the Lord in confession and repentance. Leave the door of your heart constantly open!
