When you look around the world in its current state, do you have concern for the future? War, disease, famine, bombs, shootings, natural disasters everywhere…what is the world coming to? If we look at it from a spiritual aspect, think of this…in the last 10 years, although there has been about a 5% growth among all groups who identify themselves as Christian, there has been 40% growth among other religions. In the last 10 years, Islam has almost doubled, Hinduism has almost doubled, Buddhism has almost tripled, and Wiccans have grown twenty-fold. YIKES!
The church today is dying along with our world and it’s because the church itself has become lazy and lethargic showing no signs of life. Does that sound familiar to the passages you have been reading in Isaiah with me? Are we so dumb to think that we are not living in end times, and if we do believe that, then what are we doing about it? I’ll tell you…so many Christians sit on thrones of self-centered judgment, feeding on the flesh and forgetting about the spirit, looking down on others instead of reaching out a hand to help, sitting in pews in dead churches then going back to the same old sin only hours later. WHAT?!?!?!?! WHY?!?!?! That’s not getting us anywhere. It’s as if we have all gone to sleep and we forget that we are CALLED and CHOSEN by GOD to do something different! It makes me want to scream!
Isaiah 64:1-9 – Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down,
that the mountains would tremble before you!
2 As when fire sets twigs ablaze
and causes water to boil,
come down to make your name known to your enemies
and cause the nations to quake before you!
3 For when you did awesome things that we did not expect,
you came down, and the mountains trembled before you.
4 Since ancient times no one has heard,
no ear has perceived,
no eye has seen any God besides you,
who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.
5 You come to the help of those who gladly do right,
who remember your ways.
But when we continued to sin against them,
you were angry.
How then can we be saved?
6 All of us have become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel up like a leaf,
and like the wind our sins sweep us away.
7 No one calls on your name
or strives to lay hold of you;
for you have hidden your face from us
and have given us over to our sins.
8 Yet you, Lord, are our Father.
We are the clay, you are the potter;
we are all the work of your hand.
9 Do not be angry beyond measure, Lord;
do not remember our sins forever.
Oh, look on us, we pray,
for we are all your people.
We need REVIVAL but revival begins with US! We need healing! We need to WAKE UP and start snatching people from the fire! Please, God, COME DOWN and shake this nation out of death and into life! We are ALL sinners, saved by grace, but why do we act as if we were never apart of the Kingdom of God to begin with? Our best efforts these days are still infected with sin and churches are battling each OTHER instead of the enemy!! Pastors are getting fired for accepting broken people into their churches, they are ignoring people from their congregations, even talking smack about members of their congregation behind their backs as if gossip is the new norm. What kind of example is that setting? PLEASE! Jesus is the ONLY WAY to cleanse us and make us new. We cannot rely solely on our deeds or good conduct. REPENT! Stop already with the finger pointing, the back stabbing, the BLAME and discord. Stop with the racial debates and the search for crazy spirit Pokemons that are doing nothing but DISTRACTING YOU! Come to yourself and do something different! Be the clay and allow God to shape and mold you so that you can be the city upon a hill and a light before men! And PRAY! Go to the throne before going to the phone! YOU be the change you desire to see in the world! Let the churches UNITE instead of rallying against one another.

To further your reading, consider this from:
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 – However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him—
We love God by our good deeds we share with the world and make sure everyone knows about, we love God by our words when we are in church on Sunday, but do we love God by how we treat others, or the things we do behind closed doors, or the sin we continue in thinking that we still have tomorrow? What is the problem people? WE ARE THE PROBLEM! God has prepared the way for us as lovers and followers of Christ but are you SHARING that with those of less fortune, of those whose sin may look different from yours? Let the Spirit convict you and walk in the ways of the LORD, not the world.
