Proverbs 18:20-21From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled;
with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied.

21 The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.

words6Our human tongue has the power to do many things. It has the ability to kill relationships, dreams, and confidence. But it also has the power to encourage, prophesy, give instruction, lift someone up who is down, and praise. It’s what we do with our tongue that shows our true character. Granted, we don’t always get it right. We say hurtful things because we, too, are hurting. Sometimes our tongues deceive our hearts and say things that are really not of us…because we are HUMAN. However, we ARE made in the likeness of God, created in His perfect image, the only beings on the planet able to communicate with words. What we fill ourselves up with is what we will produce. What you eat eventually comes out. What you put into the world always comes back to you, no matter how well you gloss it over and make it look the way you want it to. Lipstick on a pig does nothing. We can make people believe what we are saying to be the absolute truth. We can back it up with witness. We can turn it into whatever we want to satisfy ourselves. But the TRUTH always prevails.

words2What are you transmitting into the atmosphere today? Christ is the WORD that became flesh and took up residence with us to teach us how we, as creations of His image, can use our words to achieve His power! What goes in comes out. Are you eating the Word of God? Are you ingesting the good fruit? You cannot expect to put forth good fruit if you are listening not only to the lies in your head, but the words of other broken people. Eat the Word, and drink the Living Water!! And everything that comes forth from you will be blessed!

To further your reading, consider this from:

word3 Matthew 12:33-37 –  “Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. 34 You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. 35 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

What kind of words come from our mouths? Are we speaking the Word of God, or of death and destruction? Whatever it is, shows your heart. The Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ is there to teach us, to instruct us, and to change our attitudes and behaviors! Let HIM do a good work in you and your fruit WILL change!
