shaken1I want to be filled with peace. Period. The question is, how do we get to a place of peace when the world we live in trembles with each tremor of severe magnitude? What do we do when nothing seems to go right, when we are filled with anger to the point of not even recognizing ourselves, when people walk away who were supposed to be in your life forever? How do we get to the point of finding peace in the middle of earth-shaking circumstances that leave us baffled and confused?

Psalm 125:1 – Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be shaken but endures forever.

shaken2Nothing, unless I allow it, can disturb me. The thing is, we sometimes CHOOSE self-pity, self-loathing, disgust, anger, unforgiveness, and trials over peace. We allow the things of life to shake us up which causes us to question everything and it puts on a path directly to the epicenter of the quake. When God is the center of my soul, even as the walls crash around me and disaster seems to be around every corner, I will not be shaken. Do you have God in you, or the world? Are you shaken at the first sign of danger, or are you at peace? The Lord encamps around those He loves and who seek Him first above all.

Psalm 125:2 – As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds his people
both now and forevermore.

To further your reading, consider this from:

Isaiah 54:10 – Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

God’s unfailing love is the resting place for every weary soul. No matter what comes against us, we are safe in the middle of the chaos!
