Have you ever gotten unsolicited advice from someone, advice that was probably meant to help you but it did more harm than good? I have, but I have asked for it not realizing that the person who I was seeking counsel from was not being led by the Spirit of God. I have even found myself giving advice that is not of God just to try to help a situation that doesn’t need my help.

spirit3Job 26:2-4 – “How you have helped the powerless!
How you have saved the arm that is feeble!
3 What advice you have offered to one without wisdom!
And what great insight you have displayed!
4 Who has helped you utter these words?
And whose spirit spoke from your mouth?

A lot of people have knowledge. But do they have wisdom? I am not called to “fix” others. I am only called to have compassion and love. It’s not my place to analyze everyone else. When I do that, I am only deflecting what is taking place inside of ME. Sometimes the advice I find myself giving is out of PAIN and not PROMISE. Compassion and understanding in place of criticism and blame is much better received! Try giving an ear to what is being told to you. For you do not have all the answers to give back. Only GOD has the answers we seek! Godly counsel is amazing, but the Spirit of God gives the best advice of ALL!!
