The way we respond to personal struggles shows to the world what our attitude is about God. Let me give you an example: Recently I came upon a situation that before would have baffled me. Everything that could go wrong went completely wrong. It was a nightmare like no other. Now, the old Julie would have ripped a new one into everyone involved and done so without thought or feeling. But today, I choose to set an example for others to follow. I dealt with the situation and the people involved with grace and love, and in return I also received grace and love. What a difference it made and I was blessed beyond measure by the outcome, more than I could have even imagined. The best part? I didn’t make a fool out of myself and tick people off in the process even though I felt like I had every right to.

Job 23:10 – But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.

attitude1Life is all about the test. If we don’t pass, we must retake it. It’s that simple. Do you want to continue to be tested in the same thing over and over or are you ready to move to the next level? God is ALWAYS in control and he sees EVERYTHING. Questions about our suffering only keep our mind on the suffering and not the solution, which is Christ crucified! If only we knew WHY, or WHAT we had done to bring such calamity upon ourselves, maybe we could understand, but sometimes it is not for us to understand! GOD KNOWS and He loves us so much that He will never take us through anything where He has not already been before. The question that remains: What are you going to do about it? Continue suffering? Or be the beacon of light in the darkness?

To further your reading, and to dive a bit deeper, consider this from:

Psalm 66:8-12 – Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard;  he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping. 10 For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver. 11 You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. 12 You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.

Again…trials are only meant to build our character. Life is a gift from God that is worthy of praise and to be cherished! Don’t take anything for granted!
