The end of something is always the beginning of something greater, especially when God is involved. I am so GRATEFUL for my Shepherd coming for me, breaking my legs, and putting me around His neck for my head to rest on his chest where I could hear His heart beat clearly, even while I was in pain. The following is what I read the morning I graduated from Jacob’s Well the second time. I am loving the double portions!!
God is not on the pages of the book of Esther, nor was He on the pages of my book for a very long time. It sure doesn’t mean He wasn’t there, setting me in places I never thought I would be. Esther becoming queen of the Persian empire was more than impossible, just as I face seemingly impossible situations in my life, even today. However, God LOVES the impossible because then all the glory, honor, and praise point to Him when miracles take place. He used Esther, a girl with the wrong nationality to be queen, someone who had to hide her true identity, and the most unlikely of nearly 400 candidates for the royal position to keep a remnant of God’s chosen people from complete annihilation. He uses me now, like He did Esther, not because of me, but in SPITE of me. I was afforded and extended not one, but TWO 6 month opportunities! It was a full 12 months of purification at the hands of beautiful men and women of God who cared for me and taught me how to hear my own name.
Esther 2:12-14 (AMP) – 12 Now when the turn of each maiden came to go in to King Ahasuerus, after the regulations for the women had been carried out for twelve months—since this was the regular period for their beauty treatments, six months with oil of myrrh and six months with sweet spices and perfumes and the things for the purifying of the women— 13 Then in this way the maiden came to the king: whatever she desired was given her to take with her from the harem into the king’s palace. 14 In the evening she went and next day she returned into the second harem in the custody of Shaashgaz, the king’s eunuch who was in charge of the concubines. She came to the king no more unless the king delighted in her and she was called for by name.
I fell short on more than one occasion. I am completely unqualified to go where God is leading me, but I was called anyway. The names of the past that I answered to on a daily basis still ring in my ear; however, today I hear God calling my name and His voice overshadows the rest!
Isaiah 43:1-3 (NASB)
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name; you are Mine!
2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they will not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched,
Nor will the flame burn you.
3 “For I am the Lord your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior
I am not your girl, your trash, a loser, or a deadbeat. I am not someone to be stepped on or stepped over. I am not your enemy, nor am I a figment of your imagination. I am not a hopeless addict, a helpless drunk, a lost cause, your pitiful excuse, or someone to feel sorry for. I may have made mistakes, but that is what I did, it is NOT who I am. I am an author, speaker, leader, and trusted servant of the Most High God. I am a child of the Living King. I am a disciple, a friend of Jesus, and a warrior ready for battle!!

To further your reading, and to dive a bit deeper, consider this from:
Isaiah 49:1-3 (AMP) – Listen to me, O isles and coastlands, and hearken, you peoples from afar. The Lord has called me from the womb; from the body of my mother He has named my name. 2 And He has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand has He hid me and made me a polished arrow; in His quiver has He kept me close and concealed me. 3 And [the Lord] said to me, You are My servant, Israel [you who strive with God and with men and prevail], in whom I will be glorified.
I heard a voice from heaven as my name was called: And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He *said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” (Revelation 21:5 – NASB)
It’s not what I am called, it’s what I answer to, and my name is VICTORY! This is the new chapter in this book called life!!
