July 30th, Day 65 at Jacob’s Well – “I got a HUGE blessing and a very big revelation today. I got to go to the eye doctor! I used to take things like that for granted. I took everything for granted. Something so simple as getting to go to the eye doctor opened my eyes to the way I used to treat people in all types of business establishments. I was always very rude and very much in a hurry. Not the easiest of clients to say the least. The people there took very good care of me and I walked out with a new prescription and an order for new glasses. It has been years since I can say I did that for myself and the people of Jacob’s Well made it happen for me today. I sat in the office there and cried like a baby…Godly sorrow of how I used to be and how I don’t want to be anymore. I am so grateful. What a beautiful gift!! I was then blessed with prayer time with Pastor Tilghman again today. I got to go into a room with him and Josette and quiet my mind long enough to really hear from the Lord. We began to pray and I immediately saw myself at the pool at the Country Club in Ruston, LA. I could hear children playing, I could smell the chlorine in the pool. It represented a day of innocence and joy for me! A day when all things were right in the world. I was then transported directly into the throne room of heaven! I could feel the loving embrace of my Heavenly Father in this beautiful light. The love in the light was almost too much! Pastor Tilghman began to sing “Sweet Spirit” and I was immediately taken to the memory of me and Papaw and our sportsman day when he taught me how to fish (and not catch squirrels), how to golf (I hit a hole in one on our little makeshift hole in his field), and how to bowl. Papaw took such good care of me that day and God told me that He takes care of me like that all the time!! He wants me to have perfect days like that and He wants to give me the desires of my heart. I sat in the Glory of the Lord for a long time in prayer and thanksgiving! What a joyous moment and some joyous memories!”
I should be able to listen to God’s voice until it is the loudest voice I hear! I tend to let the white noise of the world interfere with His still small voice. Being in the presence of the Most High God is the most exhilarating place to be! And I can get there anytime I want as long as I am willing to humble myself, quiet my mind, remember His goodness and His promises, and reflect on His grace and mercy. I want to daily claim my new position in Christ and listen to His voice alone.
Elijah was afraid and running for his life away from Jezebel. She was angry with him because he had defeated 850 of the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel by showing them who the One and Only God is. Jezebel wanted him dead. He was scared to death so he hid in a cave.
1 Kings 19:9b-13 – And the word of the Lord came to him: “What are you doing here Elijah?” 10 He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.” 11 The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there wasn an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.
The Lord is ALWAYS passing by, and He comes not with pomp and circumstance, but in a gentle whisper. I am ready to meet Him on the mountain, I am ready to meet Him in the throne room, and I am ready to meet Him in heaven. I just have to open my spiritual ears to hear his still, small voice. He will whisper in the quietness of a humbled heart!!
