Someone told me the other day that they don’t trust me. I get it. Hurting people hurt people. I have garnered a lot of trust with a whole bunch of people, mainly because they trusted me until I could prove them otherwise, and I haven’t done that yet. That hasn’t happened in a very long time. The people in my life who I hurt the most don’t trust me at all, but God does or I wouldn’t be here. He believes in me when no one else does.

trustthelord22 Samuel 22:3 (KJV) – The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

The problem arises when I begin to trust the wrong reports from the battlefield and not the voice of God or even the people fighting alongside me who have put their trust in ME. I then begin to throw my trust away and give it to the people who don’t have my best interest at heart. It’s dangerous territory. It’s a fool’s trap.

Who do I trust, who do I give my whole heart to, who do I cast my beautiful pearls to? Am I giving away the things in my life to God or am I giving myself away to people who are using it against me for their own benefit? Who do YOU trust? Whose report do YOU believe? Whose door are you knocking on to get answers you desire? Is someone trampling on your life, or is God setting you free?

trustthelord3Stumble, fall to the ground in complete surrender, be led to believe His report and have confidence and trust in HIS abilities. Obedience comes from trust, not from emotional feelings of security. When you ask someone to trust you, you aren’t asking them to feel anything, you are only looking for cooperation. God, however, asks for us to trust Him, feeling everything; the hurt, the pain, the discomfort, the fear, even the joy, the hope, and the love; but doing it anyway.

trustthelord1Proverbs 3:5 (AMP) – Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

Even if we feel as if there is no one on earth worthy of our trust, we CAN trust the Lord. He knows what is best for us and His ways are not our ways. Be willing to listen!
