I did as I saw fit. I made my own decisions. I relied solely on my messed up thought processes to get me through each day. I had no King. I was under no authority. Where did I end up? On the street, living on a porch with no water and no electricity, doing whatever I needed to do in order to survive which meant “whatever I saw fit” to get to the next hit. It’s amazing how QUICKLY things can go south for anyone who turns away from the authority of their King. Today, my actions do not dictate such hard consequences; however, I still pay for my mistakes greatly. When I CHOOSE to fall under the authority of my flesh, I end up reaping what I sowed….quickly. I want to reach my resting place. In order to do that I must submit to God’s will and crucify my flesh DAILY.

godseesfit2Deuteronomy 12:8-9 – You are not to do as we do here today, everyone doing as they see fit, 9 since you have not yet reached the resting place and the inheritance the Lord your God is giving you.

My resting place is in heaven, it’s not here. That means that I can NEVER on this planet do whatever I see fit. I have to be under the authority of my King or I will fall and perish. I have to do things His way because my ways do not work. I will not find rest in my heavenly home if I had continued on my path of destruction which was my way. When I selfishly satisfy my own personal desires at all costs, everyone pays the price.

godseesfit1I have a King. His name is Jesus. And I will no longer do as I see fit. That ship has sailed.

godseesfit3To further your reading, and to dive a bit deeper, consider this from 1 Timothy 6:11-16 – But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13 In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who whole testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you 14 to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 which God will bring about in his own time – God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.

FLEE from all of those things that cause us to stumble. Fight the good fight of FAITH!! We were saved…not to sit back and watch, but to DO!! We must do what is right in the eyes of God DAILY. Christianity is NOT a passive religion. Are you acting on your faith?
