As a Christian, I have a purpose. I was created for a purpose. I exist because God wanted me to exist and my sole purpose in life is following His ways and share His love. I don’t always follow the law to the tee but Lord knows I try. Sometimes I let old habits (like gossip, jealousy, envy, and anger) back in. I’m human and I live in a fallen world full of sin but that doesn’t excuse me to sin. My goal everyday, especially when I go to work (or to Walmart) is to be kind to everyone, to show the Love of Christ to every person I met, to keep myself from talking negatively, to remain humble, to work as unto the Lord, and to mind my own business and work with my own hands. This isn’t an easy task. TRUST ME.
Right before Moses was born a decree went out from Pharaoh that forced midwives that delivered Israeli boys to kill them. Pharaoh was jealous and he was afraid of the ever growing and increasing Israeli population and the strong men that could easily overtake him if not handled properly and with evil force.
Exodus 1:15-22 – The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, 16 “When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth on the delivery stool, if you see that the baby is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.” 17 The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. 18 Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, “Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?” 19 The midwives answered Pharaoh, “Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive.” 20 So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. 21 And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own. 22 then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: “Every Hebrew boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live.”
It’s crazy what people will do for power. These two women took a stand for GOD and they showed great courage in doing so. They had a serious job to do in delivering these children and a code of ethics to follow given to them by God. They were also under the authority of Pharaoh. This is what “between a rock and a hard place” means. What do you do? Do you stand for what is right and risk persecution or do you conform to the world and risk eternity?
I am reminded that god puts people in authority over me for a reason. Sometimes I don’t like it, most times I find the blessings. Either way, they are there to teach me something about MYSELF and my character so I can grow closer to God and glorify Him through any and all circumstances.
I serve God ALONE so I can’t become weak when it comes to outside influences. When I stay focused on pleasing Him, I generally please those around me as well. I want to stand for something today. I want to do the right thing on purpose for GOD’s purpose. It’s all about Him anyway and if I follow His commands even when the world doesn’t agree, I will be blessed!

Genesis 50:20 – You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
This is my favorite scripture in the entire Bible! ALL I HAD TO DO WAS LISTEN to the voice of God, slow down my thinking, and pay attention to who He was telling me I was. I came to the realization that it isn’t all about me. I learned that God knows what He is doing and sometimes it’s none of my business. Even if it is horrible at the time, like losing a parent to prison or to suicide, He works all things out for His good. The reason I fell apart from my family was MY choice. From my family, from my ex-husband, from my own children, all because I was the victim and I was stuck in Satan’s lies. THE LORD ALLOWED THINGS TO TAKE PLACE SO THAT IN THE END I WOULD GLORIFY HIM THROUGH IT. The test hurts, and I was in a test for a long time. But it is now my TESTIMONY!!! Jesus will never forsake me in my weakness. He will never leave me. Even when I was making bad choices and near death, He was with me. It was the things I was holding onto that were keeping me sick. God has a purpose and a plan and we may not always see it, but His will is sovereign and right and just. Just hang on my dear friend! The battle has already been won!
Romans 8:28-31 – And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. 31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
