struggle3I am fresh off the battlefield. My hair is a matted mop of a mess tousled atop my head, dripping with sweat down my face and mixing with the tears that sting my eyes.

But I am a Warrior.

My greenish brown eyes are bloodshot and bruised black from the beating and a fresh wound slices down my cheek where makeup used to be.

But I am a Warrior.

The scratches on my arms indicate the closeness of my opponent as I stood firm and ready for the onslaught. The muscles I didn’t even know I had ache to the point of hardly being able to stand.

But I am a Warrior.

My feet are blistered and there are more kinks in my breast plate and shield that signify the strength of the armor that pushed back the flaming arrows that were shot directly at their target…my heart.

But I am a Warrior.

I am walking away from this battle beaten, scarred, bruised, and crushed.

But I am a Warrior.

The Light ahead of me signals rest in which I am about to partake in. It beckons me off the dark battlefield and into a lush green meadown where the Lord will clothe me in His righteousness so I can pray and keep alert and watch with strong purpose.

I AM A WARRIOR!!!

Lisa3Ephesians 6:10-17 – Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
